After a whole season of going back and forth between Arsenal and other European clubs, Podolski’s transfer rumours have finally reached an end now that German newspapers have announced that the International German striker has agreed to join Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger has wanted to transfer the striker ever since last summer’s transfer window ended, but the deal couldn’t be completed in January despite Podolski’s statements saying that he’s highly interested in the possibility of joining the Emirates Stadium.
Now Arsene Wenger has finally agreed personal terms with Podolski, according to the German newspaper Bild, and the striker is going to join Arsenal in the summer when the transfer window will be opened again.
The German hitman is expected to play as a second striker with Robin Van Persie as a target man, but he is also able to play as a left winger and he may provide competition for Gervinho and Oxlade-Chamberlain. Things are expected to change drastically at Arsenal after the summer because Wenger has to find new sources of goals in the Arsenal attack.
Podolski might bring a new era at the team and other transfers are also expected to be brought in. The focus will be now on bringing quality midfielders at the club, and Hazard seems the most likely arrival now that Wenger has finally set his mind on bringing more quality to the team.
